Plans unveiled for enormous new office block and car park at busy west Leeds commuter site

Plans have been unveiled for a huge new office block and car park complex to be built at Kirkstall Forge.

The proposed car park will be able to house a whopping 839 spaces, along with two towering eight-storey commercial office facilities.

The car park will be one of the biggest in the city, dwarfing the Trinity Leeds car park in the city centre by over 200 spaces.

Although the plans are in their infancy, it is clear the development would create jobs during and after building work is complete.

However, given the proximity to Kirkstall Road, the extra traffic could have an impact on local residents.

Kirstall Forge is a new suburban village on the banks of the River Aire bedecked with a housing estate, commercial spaces and a railway station.

The initial plans for the complex will be put before a Leeds City Council planning committee on Thursday, July 4, before an official planning application is submitted at a later date.
