Plans to turn The Brothers Bar in Possilpark into new house

Plans have been submitted to turn The Brothers Bar in Possilpark into housing.

The premises at 281 Saracen Street in the north of Glasgow, had been advertised as a development opportunity in June 2019 after the bar stopped trading.

The pub was previously known as the Bowman Bar.

Documents received by the Glasgow City Council planning department detail proposals for a residential conversion from class 3 to class 9 at the address.

A planning statement provided by Andrew Bennie Planning Limited on behalf of Ms Gillian Hayer, states the intention "to form a single dwelling house".

The home will include four bedrooms with two en-suites, an open plan living room and kitchen area, office/study, family bathroom and storage room.

A number of new windows will also be installed, while a French door opening will be created to the west elevation.

As part of the submission, it is maintained the conversion will fall in line with the requirements of Glasgow City Council's development plan.

To view the documents in full, which are now under consideration by planners, you can visit the Glasgow City Council website, HERE.
