Plans to turn beauty salon building into eight apartments

Plans have been lodged to convert vacant rooms and beauty salon premises into eight new apartments.

A planning application has been submitted to Bolton Council for the building at 187 Derby Street, in Bolton.

The form states that applicant SASS Ltd wish to convert the vacant first floor rooms and part of the 'existing commercial enterprise' into eight one and two-bedroom apartments, with eight parking spaces, an external secure cycle store, and allocated bin store area.

New windows would also be installed to the front and rear of the building in order 'to suit the new internal layout', the proposals state.

The intention is to create four one-bedroom and four two-bedroom apartments at the site.

Around 84 square metres of the building is currently classed as for commercial use as a beauty salon.

Neighbours on Derby Street, Back Bantry Street and businesses on the nearby Cambrian Business park are to be consulted on the plans.

A decision will be made on the proposals by planners at an unspecified future date.
