Plans to transform Glasgow car park into huge multi-storey hotel, flats and pub development

A proposal has been put to council planners for a huge new development on the site of a car park that borders King Street and Stockwell Street in Glasgow city centre.

The plans, submitted on behalf of Vengada Estates Limited, detail the intention to turn the NCP King Street Car Park near to the St Enoch Centre into a massive mixed-use development, comprising flats, offices, a hotel and hostel, shops, a restaurant and pub.

The physical characteristics of the design for the site, which is also bounded by Howard Street, Osborne Street and Bridgegate, are still to be developed.

However, within the proposal it is stated that the plans "are expected to include tall buildings" which have the potential to "replicate the high density and tall buildings of neighbouring regeneration sites such as 'Candleriggs Quarter', 'Buchanan Wharf', Get Living's proposal at High Street and 'Love Loan' on George Street."
