Plans to renovate a pub to create three new shops in West Lothian have been revealed.
West Lothian Council validated the proposal from the developer on June 18 for the three new shops, and an office.
The site at The Clachan Bar in Whitburn has not been used in recent years since the pub shut its doors.
The ex landlord at the pub John Wallace is listed on the application as the owner and Gateside Designs are the agent behind the application.
The plans show internal alterations and part change of use from from public house to three units for class one (shops) and class two use, with associated alterations to building at 68 West Main street in Whitburn.
The office space is listed on the plans as for the use of financial, professional and other services but it is unclear at this stage what kind of shops are planned.
The largest of the three shops, in the old public bar area, will have 150 sqm floor space, with two smaller units at 64 sqm and 41 sqm taking up what used to be the Clachan Bar’s lounges.
