There are plans to honour the man killed in an accident on Leith Walk this week with a special memorial bench and plaque.
The family of Andrew Malcolm are looking to raise £2000 in order to pay for a fitting tribute to the "dearly loved" father.
The 62-year-old died after being hit by a HGV and Vauxhall Astra near Newkirkgate Shopping Centre at around 1.10pm on Tuesday.
A GoFundMe page was set up by Samantha Riordan on Wednesday and, at the time of writing, around £250 had so far been raised.
The page stated: "As most people know Andrew Malcolm's life was sadly cut short after being in a fatal accident. Andrew's family are looking to get some donations, however big or small, to contribute towards getting him a tribute bench made with a plaque.
"Any sort of donation would be a big impact on holping get this together for Andrew.
"Thanks to everyone for their ongoing support to Andrew's family and friends, we all appreciate your kind words."

His daughters, Becky and Stacey Malcolm, yesterday paid tribute to their dad.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, they said: "Our dad was dearly beloved and will be sadly missed by all his family.
"We would like to thank all the emergency services for their assistance and now ask that our privacy is respected at this difficult time."
Police closed the road for a number of hours after the accident on Tuesday afternoon as investigations were carried out.
While a number of witnesses have already been spoken to, officers were yesterday (Wednesday) looking to speak to anyone else who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened.
