Plans to extend popular Nottinghamshire village pub to be determined this week

A decision on the extension of a popular village pub will be made this week.

The Air Hostess is situated on the corner of Stanstead Avenue and Burnside Grove in Tollerton and underwent significant refurbishment in 2019.

It was then saved from closure in 2020 and Mark Hughes, a co-tenant, says the latest extension is the result of its success post-lockdown.

New plans have set out an extension of the kitchen at the rear of the pub.

According to planning documents Tollerton Parish Council does not object to the proposals and a total of eight neighbouring properties, which were consulted on the application, did not submit any representation.

The Planning documents state: "The proposed addition would be at first floor level and would serve as an extension to the existing commercial kitchen within the pub.

"The proposed addition would be single storey in height with a flat roof and would project out at the same level as the existing decking.

"Beneath the proposed extension covered storage would be formed beneath that would be accessed via the car park and would allow continued access to the existing non-public areas of the building at ground floor level."

The proposals will be discussed during a planning meeting on Thursday, January 13 at Rushcliffe Borough Council.
