Plans to convert former Lanark furniture shop into homes submitted to council

Plans have been submitted to South Lanarkshire Council to convert an old furniture store in Lanark into flats.

The application, which was received by South Lanarkshire Council on March 24 and validated on June 8, seeks to turn Brown and Co Furnishings on Bannatyne Street into three flats and to develop a small retail unit.

The premises have been empty for 10 years and if approved, the plans will see it converted into a two-bedroomed flat, and two, one-bedroomed properties.

Planners have included space for three cars.

Neighbourhood consultation will end on July 12, with standard consultation ending earlier this week.

The deadline for determining the application is August 7.
