Plans to build 70 homes and open space in Sutton Bonington

Plans have been submitted for 70 homes to be built in Sutton Bonington.

The development would take place on land off Park Lane in the village if approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council.

21 of the houses are going to be affordable while the remainder will be a mix of two to five-bed properties.

There would also be a large public open space as part of the plans, featuring an ornamental pond and a boardwalk seating area.

The applicants state: "The development of Park Lane, Sutton Bonington provides a unique opportunity to create a residential development, creating housing choice and provide large areas of accessible public open space, which connects to the wider pedestrian network.

"The aim is to achieve a development with a strong identity and distinct sense of place, whilst at the same time integrating with the existing community."

The environment agency did not wish to comment on the application.

The application will now be considered by Rushcliffe Borough Council's planning committee.
