Plans submitted to turn Gedling House into a meditation centre

Plans have been submitted to turn historic Gedling House into a meditation centre that will include a cafe and a bookshop.

The house, which used to be an office space, will now be transformed into a well-being centre that boasts ten en-suite bedrooms and a teaching suite.

The proposals submitted by Kadampa Meditation Centre Nottingham Ltd, to Gedling Borough Council, include a paved area outside for the cafe and charging points for electric cars in the car park.

Gedling House was built around 1780 and was sold to the local council in 1955.

The manor was listed as Grade II in 1950 and still retains many of its original details, including three 19th-century classic style fireplaces.

There are already in-person classes taking place as the Gedling Borough Council will make a decision on building plans.
