Plans submitted to transform Larkhall pub into restaurant

A planning application has been made to convert a pub in Larkhall into a restaurant.

The application to change Machan Vaults Bar on Muir Street in Larkhall was received by the council on March 4 and validated this week (March 16).

The applicant wishes to change the use of the premises from a licenced pub to a restaurant and form a new kitchen space.

The venue currently operates as a bar and is open Monday to Friday, it is a community pub just off the main street of Larkhall.

The application calls to erect a free standing store and install a rear extract flue for the kitchen.

There will be no changes to parking spaces on the premises – three bays for parking will remain.

Neighbour consultation began yesterday (March 16) and will end on April 6 with standard consultation beginning yesterday and ending on March 30.

The deadline for determining the application ends May 15.
