Plans submitted to change use of pub known for its steak nights

A Nottinghamshire pub which closed last month could become a nursery.

Plans have been submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council to change the use of the White Lion, in Hall Lane, Brinsley.

A planning statement read: "The changes we propose are to the internal structure of the building, including introducing an internal staircase for access to the upper floor dwelling.

"This is necessary to provide a safe environment for the children.

"Our proposed planning will not affect the appearance of the outer building and, therefore, we believe (it) will have no impact on the conservation of the property.

"As far as we believe, the property itself is of no historic importance."

The application was submitted by Lisa Palmer, of Silver Lining Day Nursery.

The pub was known for its steak nights but closed last month.
