Plans submitted in Edinburgh for new Innis and Gunn taproom at The Shore

Innis and Gunn have put in motion exciting plans to expand in Edinburgh, with a brand new taproom in Leith.

The Edinburgh-based craft brewers submitted a planning application to the council last week, outlining a vision to transform a former cafe.

If given the green light, the new Innis and Gunn taproom would become the latest addition at the bustling Shore area.

According to the plans, it would be located in the former site of the popular Finn and Bear cafe which announced it was closing its door in March.

The architects behind the plans, McGinlay Bell, proposed works include new signage, repainting the shopfront windows and refurbishing the chalk boards.

Appealing for approval from the council in the application, they wrote that the proposed alterations are "minimal, appropriate to the building, its use and the surrounding area".

They add "we consider that the alterations proposed will not significantly alter the character of the listed building".

Sketches outlining the plans for how the new bar would look also show there would be an outdoor seating, which would make the perfect spot for a cold pint - are you excited?
