Plans have been submitted to create a new primary school and nursery in East Leake.
The development would be created in Rempstone Road alongside 235 homes that have already gained planning permission nearby.
Outline plans have now been submitted by Nottinghamshire County Council for the school which would be built on the edge of East Leake near to two new housing developments.
The two storey primary school building would be joined by the 26-place nursery as well as car parking for parents and staff to use.
The application states: "The site is to serve the new housing developments to the edge of East Leake adjacent the site and the village itself.
"The school has been located on the southern piece of land to give a closer relationship to the adjacent housing development.
"It is also anticipated that the building can then be located at a similar level to the adjacent housing."
Plans for the 235 new homes in East Leake off Rempstone Road were approved last month by Rushcliffe Borough Council's planning committee, with a section of land allocated for the new primary school.
Earlier this month further plans for nearly 200 more homes at a popular dog walking spot in East Leake were given the go-ahead by planners.
Councillor Philip Owen, chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council’s Children and Young People’s Committee, previously told Nottinghamshire Live: “This council will continue to ensure that every child and young person has a school place.
"We are aware of the further house building that will take place in East Leake and the need for additional school places that will arise."
