TV chef and celebrity Leeds United fan reveals plans for new restaurant days after 'sh**e food' online grief

Days after having his ‘sh**e food’ criticised by a customer online we can reveal Leeds celebrity chef Matt Healy has plans to open a new eatery.

Horsforth-born Matt Healy, who was runner-up in Masterchef: The Professionals in 2016 has plans to launch his Grön Kafé in York city centre.

It is earmarked to take over the vacant Filmore and Union unit in Low Petergate.

There’s currently a Grön in Oakwood which specialises in vegan and vegetable dishes.

Healy runs Matt Healy x The Foundry in Leeds city centre and The Beehive in Thorner.

We’ll bring you more on the new venture when we get it.

Earlier this week, we brought you a story of Healy taking on a critical customer on social media. It appeared the diner went beyond constructive feedback as he told the chef his ‘food is sh**e’, ‘he needs to learn to cook’ and that he thinks ‘he’s Gordon Ramsay’.

You can see the full exchange here.
