Plans revealed for £36.6m 'luxury' student accommodation block complete with sky lounge, cinema room and gym

A developer has revealed plans for a new "luxury" student accommodation scheme, costing £36.6m and hoped to be ready for students to move in next year.

Niveda Realty says its Bowline project will be located on the edge of the city's Knowledge Quarter, and will offer "community-driven and beautifully designed student accommodation".

It will feature 47 self-contained studios and 357 en-suite 'cluster' rooms, with communal facilities including a sky lounge, private dining room, fitness studio, karaoke room, and cinema room.

The scheme on Renshaw Street was previously known as Renshaw Hall, with similar plans by NR Capricornus having been approved back in 2019. The project has now been revamped by Niveda, which owns Capricornus.

Niveda said a range of social and study spaces will help to create the ideal “home away from home” for residents, bringing an "extra level of sophistication to student living".

Tim Goddard, investment director at Niveda Realty, said: “Niveda is thrilled that construction is well underway on this £36.6m project.

"Liverpool is a thriving city with so much to offer students, with excellent universities, a diverse culture and social scene.

"Bowline represents the future of the purpose-built student accommodation sector and the admirable determination of students to want to uphold the authentic UK student experience.

"This development also conveys the core value of Niveda, of developing and managing buildings that matter, in places the team believes in.”

The firm hopes students will start moving in for the start of the 2021/22 academic year, and said it has appointed Prestige Student Living, a brand from accommodation provider Homes for Students, to handle the operations.

Create Construction, a firm that recently completed Manchester's first Hampton by Hilton Hotel, is building the "stunning luxury accommodation".

Martin Corbett, managing director at Homes for Students, added: “We are so excited to work alongside Niveda Realty and Create Construction to bring Bowline to life with our Prestige Student Living brand.

"Bowline brings something fresh to the student accommodation scene in the city, and we feel confident that despite the many challenges students face in the current climate, finding their new home with us in the city won’t be one of them.”
