Plans lodged to transform former Ann Summers store into nail salon

A former Ann Summers store on Wearside could become a nail salon under new plans.

In August, Sunderland City Council received an 'change of use' application for the shop space on 259 High Street West.

The applicant, listed as Mr Kiong Tiew Ling in planning documents, hopes to revamp the vacant site.

If plans are approved, the new nail salon is expected to create six jobs - three full-time and three part-time.

Proposed opening hours also include 9am-6pm, Monday to Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

A final decision on the planning bid is expected by the end of November following consultation.

Comments can be made until Thursday, October 17 by writing to the council.
