Plans in place to expand Nottinghamshire Police station

Nottinghamshire Police has revealed plans to expand one of its stations on the border of Bestwood and Arnold.

A planning application has been lodged to build a new two-storey building at the Oxclose Lane Police Station.

The building would be used as offices, meeting rooms, consultation rooms and facilities for police, according to planning documents.

An extra five car parking spaces would also be created to serve the new building.

This station is a base for officers only and is not open to the public.

The proposal is likely to require the removal of two or three existing trees, but it is proposed that these trees will replaced as part of the development.

Now the application has been lodged by the force, it will be decided on by the city council's planning committee.
