A property development firm in Birmingham has unveiled details of its first project in the city after being founded last year.
Hanehouse Developments has lodged plans for 130 new apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms, and ground-floor commercial space in Bradford Street, Digbeth.
The scheme will also have new public realm, beginning the process of connecting Lombard Street through to Green Street and onto Digbeth High Street as part of the Rea Valley Urban Quarter plan which was adopted last year.
Developers Eamonn Minihane and Richard Whitehouse previously worked together at Jewellery Quarter-based Blackswan Property before it was bought out by Hungarian group Cordia International last year.
They decided to launch Hanehouse last spring despite the effects of the pandemic and have since been joined by property finance expert David Fair whom they also worked with at Blackswan.
The new team now has a wider property masterplan to bring forward around £270 million of residential schemes across Birmingham and elsewhere.
Mr Minihane said: "The scheme design is sensitive to the existing fabric of Digbeth and its historic past while also looking forward and supporting its ongoing regeneration."
The Digbeth project has been designed by K4 Architects and with planning consultancy from PJ Planning.
