Plans for a new tennis and sports facility in West Lothian have been revealed.
The outline plans for a potential new outdoor community tennis and sports facility in the Murieston area have been proposed by a local resident and are currently under review by West Lothian Council.
The proposal is to develop a community-run entity (Sports Hub) to build on the success of the Cricket Club and for the benefit of the local community.
A spokesperson for West Lothian Council explained: “The plan would utilise spare ground at the Livingston Cricket Club site at Dresselrigg in Murieston Valley, focussed initially on tennis but with the potential to accommodate other sports usage and with the goal to ultimately create a new Community Sports Hub for the area.
“Funding will be sought from a range of funders such as TennisScotland, sportsscotland, National Lottery and other national and local funds.
“The club will be setup as a not-for-profit charitable organisation with membership fees. As part of an ongoing feasibility study, local area residents and existing sports facility users are being canvassed for their opinions and to gauge the level of support for such a scheme.
“We would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete the following survey https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/JZK37BQ and add any additional comments you may have on each of the question areas.”
