Plans for Scotland's first Ray-Ban store on Glasgow's Buchanan Street

Plans which would see the opening of Scotland's first Ray-Ban store on Buchanan Street have been submitted to Glasgow City Council.

Documents received by council planners last week reveal the high-end eyewear brand's intention to move into 124 Buchanan Street, which is currently occupied by stationary shop Scribbler.

Ray-Ban has four stores in the UK, in Carnaby Street, Camden, and Covent Garden in London, and also at Gatwick Airport.

The retailer lists dozens of 'certified resellers' across Glasgow, however the potential city centre opening would be Ray-Ban's first dedicated store outside the south east of England.

The application, submitted on behalf of Luxottica UK Retail Ltd, is seeking internal and external alterations to the address, which is a listed building.

Meanwhile drawings which can be viewed on Glasgow City Council's planning website show the proposed layout and look of the unit.

The plans are currently with the council's planning department for consideration.
