Plans for a sky bar on the edge of Liverpool city centre are set to be approved next week.
The council’s planning committee will consider proposals to alter approved student accommodation between Erskine Street, Manfred Street and Prospect Street, close to the Royal Hospital.
Originally planned under different developers, council documents say the site fell into administration in 2019 or 2020.

New applicants Aura Investors LLP, which is made up of the original investors in the project, have now applied for the changes and said they “have the intention to see the development through to completion”.
The changed plans would see a sky lounge and roof terrace created on the 15th floor as well as a number of other alterations to the building’s design.
A report submitted to councillors said: “Under the previous approval this floor contained 2no. studio bedrooms and 6no. student cluster bedrooms.
“Under this proposal they would be replaced by a further student communal space in the form of a sky lounge and external roof terrace.
“The occupancy of the sky lounge and roof terrace would be restricted by the operator to a maximum of 60 persons.”
Councillors have been recommended to approve the alterations to the plans, with officers saying that the building will remain largely the same and maintain its planned ‘E’ shape.
The development would eventually have 696 en-suite bedrooms.
The council’s planning committee will consider the plans next Tuesday.
