Plans for new drive-thru Starbucks in Glasgow's Alexandra Parade abandoned

A proposal to build a drive-thru Starbucks in Alexandra Parade has been withdrawn.

Developers wanted to turn the car wash area at the BP garage into a new venue for the coffee giant.

But, due to concerns about the suitability of the location from both council officials and residents, they have abandoned the plans.

Issues raised about using the area at the filling station, between Craigpark and Lloyd Street, included entry and exit points into the site and the impact on nearby householders.

The Starbucks application was officially withdrawn on April 2.
