Plans for nearly 2,500 homes in various Dublin locations have been lodged to An Bord Pleanala.
The submitted plans are for five separate housing developments across the capital.The biggest of these proposals is for 999 apartments at North Wall Quay in Dublin City and over half of these flats will be used for renting.
There is also plans for 659 apartments in Sheriff Street Upper and at the East Wall Road.
In north Dublin, 512 apartments are hoped to be built on the Howth Road while south Dublin sees proposals for 200 houses and apartments in Kilternan and 119 apartments in Dundrum.
Most of the projects are full applications that have been lodged under the new fast-track mechanism while others are still at consolation stage.
