Plans for major development next to The Mall shopping centre at Cribbs Causeway given green light

Plans for a huge development of eco-friendly offices next to The Mall have been given the go ahead.

Property developer Baylis Estates has received planning consent for Jupiter Park - a 56,000 sq ft development that will be built on a three-acre site adjacent to the Cribbs Causeway shopping centre.

The scheme will have a focus on wellness and sustainability, according to the developers, and will include eight, two-storey office buildings ranging from 2,000 to 20,000 sq ft.

The plans also include a community hub, with cycle parking, a trim trail, space for a gym and yoga classes, and an open community area.

“Jupiter Park will be a site with room to move, room to breathe, and a community hub at its core,” explained David Mace, managing director at Baylis Estates.

“We’ve been continuing with our plans for Jupiter Park throughout lockdown and with planning consent now achieved, we can move forward with our vision for this exciting sustainable work environment.”

According to Baylis Estates, Jupiter Park will also have an A-rated energy performance certificate (EPC), photovoltaic panels, green roofs, and electric vehicle charging points.

Simon Price, senior partner at commercial property firm Alder King, which is acting on behalf of Baylis Estates, said: "Its location and design benefits are already attracting significant interest from occupiers eager to relocate as we move out of lockdown.

He added: “Jupiter Park is in an exceptionally well-placed location, with established leisure and retail on its doorstep."

Real estate company Avison Young are the planning advisers for Baylis Estates at Jupiter Park, while Stride Treglown are the architects.
