It's gone a bit quiet on the biomass front since the public consultation on a proposed energy plant in Leith closed last month.

Now campaigners are planning their next moves to lobby politicians. They hope to take advantage of the upcoming Scottish parliamentary election and brief new MSPs on their concerns.

Nearly 2,000 people objected during the consultation. The City of Edinburgh Council is due to vote on the plans on 25 May.

Before the council meeting, supporters of Leith Against the Biomass Plant Campaign plan to hold a meeting to co-ordinate their next steps.

An open discussion thread has been started on Facebook for supporters to give their thoughts on how to keep their campaign going. A meeting date of Monday 9 May has been proposed, but organisers are keen that everyone previously involved has a say.

You can see the plans proposed by Forth Energy in full at this link.

The latest edition of Leither magazine suggests approving the plans would be "a national disgrace."

Do you think the council will accept or reject the plans? Share your thoughts below.
