Plans for 'five-star' toilets in city centre where using the loo will cost €3.50 a pop

Work is underway for a luxury toilet development to open on Duke Street in Dublin city centre next year where using the loo will cost Dubliners €3.50 a go.

The "five star" toilet block is being developed by Connemara businessman John Nagle, who opened a similar bathroom development in Clifden earlier this summer, called U-Luu.

In addition to the twenty four toilets planned for the block, there will also be six showers developed, costing a tenner per use.

The luxury bathroom will be open twelve hours a day, seven days a week and will be maintained by 12-15 full time staff.

Nagle is hoping to have the toilets up and running in the city centre by Easter, 2022.

He has said that the main attraction for users of the toilets is that they are cleaned after every use and the bathroom will always be fully attended.

A price plan has been developed by the business. Use of the U-Luu toilets will cost €3.50 for single use, €5 for a day pass, €20 for a week pass and €120 for unlimited use for a year.
