Costa Coffee has revealed plans to open a second store within an Edinburgh shopping centre.
The vacant unit within the Gyle Shopping Centre has been earmarked by the coffee roasters to transform it into their second location within the retail centre, with the previous occupants, Dam Health, clearing out years ago.
In an application submitted to the City of Edinburgh Council, Costa say the store would provide a long term tenant to the shopping centre and increase the footfall across the western side of the complex.

It is understood that the store would include seating facilities for customers and incorporate the popular ethos of the company in re-heating sandwiches and toasties as well as offering a takeaway service.
Supporting the application, a spokesperson for Costa added: "As the proposed development will not sell any hot food and a significant proportion of the sales of sandwiches, confectionary and drinks are likely to be for takeaway purposes, there is a significant element of the use which would ordinarily fall within Class 1 (1A).
"The proposed coffee shop will also have an element of seating whereby customers can consume food and drinks on the premises. This adds an element of Class 3 use."
The physical changes of the unit will also be limited to internal alterations which include a row of fixed seating and a feature screen in line with the Costa brand installed. The proposed opening hours also fall in line with the Gyle Shopping Centre.
