Plans for Caffe Nero to replace former Eat in Glasgow city centre

A planning application has been lodged for Caffe Nero to replace the former Eat cafe in Glasgow city centre.

Proposals sent to Glasgow City Council detail plans for the 31 Gordon Street unit to be converted into a new venue for the major coffee shop chain.

The application, submitted on November 7, states: "We hereby submit two applications for the following development proposals at 31-33 Gordon Street, Glasgow:

"Application for listed building consent for internal and external alterations; and,

"Application for advertisement consent for the display of various illuminated and non-illuminated signage.

"The unit, which will be occupied by Caffe Nero, will operate within the established 'EAT' consent detailed above.

"External alterations are limited to making good of the existing shopfront; painting window frames and doors to match that of the prevailing colour scheme; and works associated with the display of various illuminated and non-illuminated advertisements."

Meanwhile, drawings submitted as part of the application detail how the new cafe will look.

The plans are currently with Glasgow City Council for consideration - to view them in full, you can visit the Glasgow City Council website, HERE.
