Plans for another hotel opposite Everton’s new stadium have been submitted to Liverpool Council.
The Blues’ new stadium plans were approved earlier this year, with the first matches set to be played there in the 2024-25 season.
Now, there are plans to build a 16 bed hotel close by, with Liverpool Estates having recently submitted proposals to the city council to convert a building metres from the stadium site.
Currently used as a workshop, the building used to house a pub called The Reserve.
The hotel would have a bar on its ground floor, with the rooms, including four family-sized suites, in the three floors above it.
In a statement provided the application, the applicants said fans of both Liverpool FC and Everton FC would be a key target market.
The statement said: “The success of both clubs means that they command wide-reaching fan bases, many of whom come to the city for match-day experiences. from national and international locations.
“As such, there is a demonstrable need for local and accessible tourism accommodation within proximity to the grounds.
“This need will become more apparent as the cultural calendar in the city grows.
“Also, due to the pending relocation of Everton FC to Bramley Moore Dock the site is in a prime location to facilitate for travelling fans to future matches and events.”
Liverpool Estates’ proposals follow plans for another boutique hotel in the building next door, approved earlier in 2021.
That proposal will see a nine bed hotel built in another former warehouse building.
