Some 30 rented homes are set to be built in one part of Wirral after a major housing association submitted its plans to the council.
A mix of two-bedroom homes and bungalows could be built on land between Livingstone Road and Twickenham Drive in Leasowe.
Prima Group, also known as Pierhead Housing Association, is the applicant behind the plans and the landlord for many of the rented properties in the surrounding area.
Prima intends to develop the site to provide starter homes and accessible accommodation, in response to housing needs identified locally.
The housing association has committed to making all 30 homes affordable in its application to Wirral Council, which currently owns the site.
The Halsall Lloyd Partnership, the architects designing the homes on behalf of Prima, believe that building this type of housing will help the estate maintain a steady and diverse local community of both older and younger residents.

The site is at the heart of a Leasowe estate formerly occupied by three apartment blocks which were demolished in the 1990s, as well as a sheltered housing scheme demolished in the past five years.
Each home will benefit from secure off-street parking and there are many public transport links near the site, including a bus stop and Leasowe train station.
For those wishing to walk and cycle, a 500 metre trip south of the site gets you to the Wirral Trail and riverside paths while the North Wirral Coastal Park linking to Leasowe beach and the Wirral coast is one kilometre away.
The site is also close to several schools and nurseries, as well as the Leasowe Millennium Centre and it has a GP surgery next door.
In terms of recreation facilities, the Leasowe Leisure Centre and Leasowe Community Centre and Adventure Playground, plus other open spaces, are very close to the site.
