Plans drawn up for two industrial units the size of 10 football pitches

Two units covering 750,000 sq ft – equivalent to 10 football pitches – could be added to a business park in north Derbyshire.

Plans have been submitted to construct the buildings on vacant land between Derby Road and Anchor Road in the Access 26 Business Park, in Langley Mill.

Planning documents submitted to Amber Valley Borough Council by C4 Projects on behalf of the applicant, say the units would be suitable for variety of uses, with office space at the front and warehousing or workspaces at the back.

They say the site is located within “an existing established commercial park” which would be suitable for that type of development.

The documents state: “The application relates to the construction of two Industrial buildings, comprising two number Industrial units in total, suitable for B1, B2 or B8 class use, with associated parking, landscaping and infrastructure.

“The proposals are entirely within the curtilage of the existing Class B8 site and works will not affect neighbouring land.

“The development does not impact on any locally designated ecological sites or protected habitats or areas.

“The portion of land on which the extension is to be built is currently hardstanding access/service roads.

“Natural screening, in the form of existing trees and shrubs, is to be retained along the boundary between the site and residential area.”
