Planning permission secured for 428 new apartments in Sandyford, Dublin

Dublin Chamber has welcomed the news that planning permission for 428 new apartments has been secured in South Dublin.

Real estate investment trust, IRES has been granted the planning in Sandyford for a number of blocks ranging from 5 to 14 storeys.

The scheme will also see the construction of commercial units, a crèche and a communal space for residents.

An Bord Pleanála approved the scheme at Rockbrook through the Stratgic Housing Development process.

The IRES confirmed that it also has planning permission for 628 units on existing sites.

CEO of IRES, Margaret Sweeney said: "The receipt of planning permission for the development of our site at Rockbrook in Sandyford, Dublin 18 was a key strategic objective for our growth strategy.

"We engaged in a detailed pre-submission process to ensure that the application met all of the requirements for a Strategic Housing Development including extensive engagement with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council to understand its priorities and objectives for the locality."
