Planned road closure in Stanley postponed due to bad weather

A planned road closure has been postponed because of the bad weather.

Perth Road in Stanley was due to be shut today (Tuesday, February 18) for carriageway resurfacing works.

The road had been shut off last week, but after issues with the closure the road was reopened and the closure reschedule to today instead.

However, due to the bad weather the road will now be closed tomorrow instead.

A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said: “Due to the issues following the recent bad weather, we will not be closing Perth Road today [Tuesday, February 18] as previously advertised.

“The closure is due to take place from tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday 19 to Thursday, February 20 between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.

“Between these hours, a local diversion will be in place along with parking suspensions to help turning manoeuvres for larger vehicles.

“This closure will be dependent on the weather conditions and we will provide a further update should these plans change.”
