Planned engineering works will cause disruption on the trains in West Lothian at the end of the month

Scotrail are asking commuters from West Lothian travelling to Edinburgh between Friday 27 and Sunday December 29 to consider making alternative arrangements.

Network Rail are carrying out vital planned engineering work near Haymarket on these dates and services on several routes to and from Edinburgh will start and terminate before reaching the capital city.

On the Edinburgh Glasgow Central via Shotts line trains will operate on a reduced hourly service and will start and terminate at West Calder with a very limited replacement bus service running between West Calder and Edinburgh.

And again on the Edinburgh Helensburgh Central and Milngavie lines trains will start and terminate at Bathgate with a very limited replacement bus service running between Bathgate and Edinburgh.

The last trains of the day will depart earlier than normal on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and as with previous years, no trains will run on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
