Strong winds have led to aircraft struggling to take off as the UK braces for freezing conditions.
Dramatic footage, filmed at Newcastle Airport on Sunday 27 January, shows planes attempting to take flight in the face of gusts of up to 50mph.
One of the aircraft, a propellor plane, is shown hurtling down the runway, fighting to stay straight before taking off at an angle. It then swerves almost 90 degrees before righting itself again. The landing is similarly unsteady.
Bigger jets at Newcastle Airport are also shown making shaky take-offs and landings amid strong winds.
The precarious take-offs come as the UK is set to face a cold snap, with snow expected on Tuesday evening.
The Met Office warned that the incoming Arctic weather could mean travel disruption.
Chief meteorologist Paul Gundersen said: “As the moist air from a weather system bringing storms to France clashes with the cold air sitting over the UK, it brings the chance of wintry showers and snow disruption to most parts.
“It’s not possible at this stage to be certain where exactly will see the worst impacts of any snow, but people need to be prepared for the possibility of disruption and make sure they check the forecast regularly.
“Areas of higher ground are most likely to see significant snowfall, so it’s particularly important to take extra care when planning and travelling in those places.”
Snow showers will develop in the northwest on Monday night and by Tuesday a band of rain, sleet and snow will move eastwards across the country.
A yellow weather warning for “possibly heavy snow” is in place for London and the southeast, from Tuesday night to Wednesday lunchtime.
