A plane passenger has described the devastating moment a stranger's baby died in her arms on board an AirAsia flight.
Nadia Parenzee said she'd offered a set of new parents some help as she could see they were stressed by their two-month-old daughter's relentless crying.
Taking the little girl off the parents, she says the baby took her last breath and "went limp".
Nadia knew something was wrong and called to see if any doctors were on the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Perth.
She says resuscitation attempts continued until they landed, but sadly the baby died as she held her.
Nadia, from Perth, described the tragedy as "the most confronting situation one could possibly go through".
"My heart is numb and I don't know how to feel but I am honestly honoured to have held her and read a prayer on her before she passed," Nadia wrote in an emotional Facebook post.

Speaking to ABC News , Nadia, a mother and former nurse said: "I took the baby straight away and I could see that she was grey in colour and she was struggling to breathe, so I said a little prayer."
But Nadia said when the baby went limp she knew it was an emergency.
"I was screaming, 'we need a doctor, we need a doctor,' and about 20 people came running," she said.
"The parents were just genuinely beside themselves. I was trying to reassure them."
Doctors immediately started CPR and continued trying to resuscitate for two hours until the plane landed in Perth, according to reports.

The Saudi couple had been travelling to Australia with their baby to start a new life, Nadia said.
Nadia commended the way AirAsia dealt with the incident, describing them as professional and amazing.
