Plane passenger divides opinion with 'unethical life hack' to stop people reclining seat

A person who says they just can't bear it when the person in front of them on a plane starts reclining says they've thought up the perfect "unethical life hack" to get them to stop.

This fed-up individual has now shared their top tip via TikTok, where a current trend for "unethical life hacks" has sparked a number of heated debates on all manner of relatable topics.

Remarking that "the plane ride is so long when you get one of these people in front of you", they went on to share their revenge method of choice, and many followers felt they were being perfectly "reasonable".

In the clip, the TikTok creator, who goes by the username @thelkshow, advised followers: "When you are on a flight and the person in front of you reclines their seat all the way and leaves you no room.

"Turn on the air-con above you on full blast and point it at the top of their head."

The divisive video has been watched more than 1.9 million times and counting, and many admitted they'd be trying the hack for themselves during their next flight, ethical or not.

One regretful person commented: "I wish I had done this. The guy just told me that the seats move that far back for a reason. I was squashed the whole flight."

Another wrote: "During my fight to Las Vegas, a lady reclined all they way back. Which is her right but I'm like damn, have some common courtesy for people. I'll do this next time."

Others however took a different view, with a third individual reasoning: "The whole point is everyone reclines so you have more room. Those tickets cost a lot of money. Gonna do what I want lol."

A fourth unrepentant recliner quipped: "Thanks, flights are hot and stuffy anyways. I hope people start doing this."
