Plane passenger baffled as person next to her tucks into full rack of barbecue ribs

Those who travel a lot know that there are many unwritten plane etiquette rules that you should follow, unless you want everyone in the surrounding area hating you for the next few hours.

Things like taking your shoes off if your feet are smelly, kicking the chair of the person in front of you or reclining when the person behind you is trying to eat won't get you any pats on the back.

One plane passenger who was sitting in the window seat found was baffled when the person next to her started tucking into an entire rack of barbecue ribs, served with a side of fries and corn on the cob.

Lanna, Tolland, from Glasgow, Scotland, shared the picture of the in-flight snack on Twitter, and it's since gone viral and been seen by more than 5.5m people.

In the caption, she wrote: "No chance is the guy next to me eating a full rack of ribs plus sides on this plane."

Thousands of people commented on the audacity of the passenger, who was sitting in the middle seat on the packed plane.

One person called it "questionable behaviour", and another admitted: "I don't even like using my laptop on the plane in the middle seat."

A third added: "Full rib rack in the middle seat.. Nasty behaviour."

"I feel like there is a line on what’s acceptable to bring to eat in a plane. Sandwich? Good. Chips? Good. Full plate of BBQ? As much as I love BBQ - over the line," commented another.

However, others felt the plane passenger was well within his rights to enjoy his meal on the flight.

One person said: "We know you're just mad he didn't share."

Another commented: "My absolute hero — if you don’t respect this power move, it says more about you than him."

A third said: "This required planning, patience, and execution. A recreation of the guilded age of plane travel. Let the man live."
