A light aircraft has been seen flying over Bootle carrying a banner paying tribute to man called Tommy King.
Photographs have been sent into the ECHO from a reader showing a small plane flying over the Bootle area.
An onlooker said: "It did around six or seven laps over Bootle in the sky.
"We could just about make it out, it said 'Tommy King Our Hero We ❤️ You Always'.
"It happened at around 9am today.
"I've got no idea who Tommy King is but hopefully someone does!"
A flight tracking system showed a C182 light aircraft leaving the Southport area today and looping over Bootle several times before returning at 9.30am.
It has not been confirmed if this is the plane.
