A plane crashed into a field earlier this afternoon, leaving the two people inside with 'serious injuries' and requiring hospital attention.
Greater Manchester Police responded to an incident in Tyldesley, Wigan at 1.10pm this afternoon after it was reported a light aircraft had crashed into a field near Rindle Road. Both of the aircraft's two occupants were taken to hospital with 'serious injuries'.
One witness said the fire service, air ambulance and police were all spotted on scene. They also said that the plane looked 'upside down' in the field.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We've been responding to an incident in Tyldesley after reports shortly after 1.10pm of a light aircraft crashing in a field just off Rindle Road.
"Both occupants have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"There's no wider disruption to the public."
