Plane banner sends message to Liverpool owners FSG and Jurgen Klopp before Man United game

A plane flew over Anfield before Liverpool v Manchester United kicked-off with a banner carrying a message to FSG.

Some Liverpool supporters are calling on the American owners to back manager Jurgen Klopp in the transfer market after an underwhelming season on the pitch.

Under Klopp, the Reds have won every major honour in club football and last season came close to winning an unprecedented quadruple. But this time around his side are facing a fight to finish in the top four and are already out of both domestic cup competitions.

The banner showed its full support to the German boss but demanded FSG leave.. The banner read: "FSG out, Klopp in - enough is enough."

Back in November, FSG engaged US merchant banking giants Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to facilitate a search for a minority partner in Liverpool while also opening themselves up to interest over a full sale of the club.

But last month, John Henry, FSG's principal owner, confirmed that he is not looking to sell the Reds and is instead wanting investment.

Klopp has seen Liverpool drop off this campaign after years of competing for the biggest trophies in the game with a rebuild needed in the summer transfer window.
