Plane banner protesting FSG and Liverpool European Super League stance flown over Elland Road

A plane with a banning protesting the European Super League flew over Elland Road before Liverpool's away clash with Leeds United on Monday night.

The Reds are one of 12 founding members who have confirmed they will be joining the new breakaway European competition at the expense of the Champions League, with the stance slammed by the footballing world.

Leeds fans protested outside Elland Road against the European Super League plans ahead of their side's clash with Jurgen Klopp 's men, and it was reported that they would also fly a plane and banner over the ground at kick off to voice their displeasure ahead of the Monday Night Football game on Sky Sports.

And the aircraft indeed flew over the Yorkshire-based club's ground ahead of kick off.

The attached banner carried the message, "#SayNoToSuperLeague".

While Liverpool have confirmed their intention to join the European Super League, they travelled to Leeds knowing a victory would see them climb into the top four as they look to qualify for next season's Champions League.
