Plan to open massive inflatable theme park in north Bristol

A vacant car leasing centre in north Bristol could be transformed into a huge inflatable theme park.

Jumpin Fun, which has sites in Sussex, Salisbury and Derby, has applied for planning permission to open in the site formerly occupied by ALD Automotive Ltd, which relocated from Fishponds to Emerson's Green in early 2017.

The plan was submitted in August 2019 and Bristol City Council aims to have made a decision by October 30.

The site is in Oakwood Park, located just off Lodge Causeway, within 200 metres walk of Fishponds Road.

If the plan is approved the unit could also include a gymnasium.

About Jumpin Fun

Jumpin Fun claims to be the first inflatable theme park chain to open in South East England

Its existing sites include a wide range of inflatable obstacles including giant slides, climbing walls and more.

They also boast giant ball pits and rotating arms, which allow friends to challenge each other in a game of last one standing.

For younger children there are soft play areas with mini ball pits, slides and more, while parents can relax in an on-site cafe.

There are also adult only sessions and time slots specifically for people with special needs.

Project will 'create jobs and stimulate continued economic investment'

The planning application submitted to Bristol City Council by a planning consultant outlines a number of reasons why it should be approved.

They include the creation of jobs and that the site is 'highly sustainable in terms of proximity to town centre, bus stops and the adjacent Bristol/Bath cycleway as well as a high adjoining residential catchment population within walking distance'.

It is also stated that the facility will 'stimulate continued economic investment and use of the site providing leisure facilities and enhancing the overall vitality and viability of Fishponds town centre'.

There have only been two objections to the plan from members of the public. Bristol Live will bring you the latest updates on the plan as and when we hear them.
