Plan to build new schools!

Council chiefs are set to launch consultations on the £58 million plan for new schools.

They will ask the public for their views on the Winchburgh project, billed as the largest ever single investment in education in West Lothian.

The plan is set to see the creation of a new secondary school in Winchburgh, alongside a new primary at Calderwood and a replacement Holy Family primary.

Council bosses rubber-stamped plans for the schools blueprint earlier this year, with hopes that the new RC primary and non-denominational secondary will be ready for pupils by August 2022.

Now they have announced a three-pronged consultation on the new facilities.

A series of public meetings - on Wednesday (October 9) for the secondary school consultation, Thursday (October 10) for Holy Family and Thursday October 24 for Calderwood primary - will form part of the engagement process, alongside downloadable consultation packs.

Full details of meetings are avaible alongside consultation documents on the council’s website at westlothian.gov.uk/schoolconsultations.
