The Karnataka Government’s Sakala Mission, which has been monitoring citizen service delivery systems, completed 10 years of service, and on Monday launched its revamped website. It was proposed that “tatkal services” would be brought under Sakala Mission..
The Sakala Mission was launched by the BJP Government on April 2, 2012. At present, it has been providing 1,115 notified services under 99 institutions. As on February 28, 2022, Sakala received 26.56 lakh applications and disposed of 26.41 lakh applications (95.07%).
It has proposed many new initiatives, including Sakala-KIOSK, which is being implemented in a pilot mode to promote faceless and cashless service. It has also proposed workflow-based mapping to track intermediate stages of service delivery. Under the Online Appeal Module, the authorities would enable an online appeal hearing process to save citizens time.
At the function organised to mark the decennial celebrations of the Sakala scheme, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education B.C. Nagesh gave away appreciation letters to officials who have rendered valuable service for the successful implementation of the scheme.
