A proposal for 30 affordable rented homes on a vacant plot in Leasowe has been approved by Wirral Council.
The plan will see a mix of two-bedroom houses and accessible bungalows built on a plot between Twickenham Drive and Livingstone Road.
The design and access statement (DAS) shows that each home will have off-street parking and be available to rent at an affordable rate.
The Leasowe site is at the heart of the estate and used to be occupied by three apartment blocks which were demolished in the 1990s and a sheltered housing scheme after that which was demolished more recently.
It is currently owned by Wirral Council, which has an agreement to sell to Prima Housing Group now that the plans have been approved.
Prima Group is the main housing association locally and the main landlord for most of the surrounding estate.

The association also currently owns and manages over 2,700 properties in Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral, plus a small number in Llandudno.
The DAS said the Leasowe site has key strengths.
It read: “The site abounds to the Leasowe Millennium Centre completed in 2001, which offers excellent facilities including a cafe, community suites, a branch library, an adult learning resource centre and offices for the Prima Group.”

On what the homes will contribute to the area, the statement added: “[Prima aims to] provide starter homes and accessible accommodation to resolve identified local housing needs.
“Building these will help the estate maintain a steady and diverse local community of both older and younger residents.”
