PUNE: Shivajinagar police are searching for a man engaged in housekeeping services at a private hospital in the area for outraging modesty of a woman (42) on Saturday.
The woman from Baner lodged a police complaint in this regard. Senior police inspector Arvind Mane of the Shivajinagar police said, “The woman is a medical practitioner. Her son has been admitted to the hospital with a fracture in hand and would go under the knife soon.”
The woman has been staying in the hospital with her son in a private room. “She went to have a bath on Saturday afternoon, when the housekeeping staffer came to their room,” Mane said.
He said, “The washroom the woman went to is connected to the adjacent room and open from the top. The housekeeping staffer went to the adjacent room, scaled the wall of the washroom and peeped inside. When the woman sensed his presence, she raised an alarm and tried to chase him.”
Mane said the hospital had hired services of a private housekeeping agency, which had deployed the suspect on duty. “The man stays in a slum in Khadki. When we visited, his room was locked. We are searching for him,” he said.
