A Place In The Sun star Laura Hamilton says she almost had a breast reduction operation when she was a teen – and adds that she has found a new love for Botox.
The television presenter is set to turn 40 years old next year and she says she has been turning to cosmetic procedures to help keep herself looking younger.
Laura – who has hosted A Place In The Sun since 2012 and also landed in second place on Dancing On Ice back in 2011 – says she wanted to get some help turning back the clock due to wrinkles caused by sunshine.
Opening up about her newfound love for Bo, Laura said her mother was surprised by her decision to go under the needle – but the approach of her landmark birthday inspired her to take the plunge.
She told the Daily Mail: “My mum thought I was mad for having Botox. I've had a little between my eyebrows, to get rid of the frown lines caused from being in the sun. I'm 40 next year, and I just wanted to do it.”
Discussing other procedures she might consider, Laura revealed she almost went under the knife as a teenage to reduce the size of her bust.
She said: “I contemplated a boob reduction operation in my teens. When I was 15, all of a sudden my boobs grew to a 28FF, and I had an out-of-proportion body.
'When the doctor explained the procedure, it sounded scary, and I realised that I had my whole life ahead of me to settle into my body. I'm so glad I didn't go through with it.”
Wrinkle lines are not the only professional hazard Laura has had to contest with in recent months.
Back in the summer, the Channel 4 star was left flustered and embarrassed when her float summer dress got caught in an electric bike.
Disaster struck when Laura was out peddling on an electric bike while wearing a stunning – and flowing – blue and white summer dress designed by Blue Vanilla.
Taking to Instagram Stories at the time, Laura revealed her dress had got trapped in the bike when she was out and about pedalling around.
She wrote online: “So this happened…”
And advised: “Don’t ride an electric bike (or any bike for that matter) in a long dress!”
There then followed a series of photos showing a number of gentlemen frantically trying to free her dress from the mechanics of the bike.
A close up of the material showed that it was tightly wedged between pieces of metal while a pair of hands worked to free the clothing.
Fortunately she was freed in time to continue filming – as she had been in France recording scenes for her Channel 4 show.
