Place In The Sun guest grovels after snubbing every property in 'disappointing' U-turn

A Place In The Sun presenter Jasmine Harman received an apology from a guest on the popular property show, after they "disappointed" her.

The Channel 4 host was on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura showing husband and wife Steve and Debbie around the Costa de Antigua.

The couple told Jasmine how they had a budget of £70,000 and wanted to find a property that had two bedrooms, a pool and a terrace.

However, the sun began to fade when Jasmine confessed, she was "disappointed" that not one of the properties appeared to be suitable for the Wigan-based couple.

The exacting duo wanted a place in Fuerteventura because they has been holidaying there for almost a decade.

Property expert Jasmine began by showing the couple a property close to a pub they love in the area.

Delighted with the choice the pair loved the area.

Jasmine confessed: “I was hoping that location might go down well."

Commenting on the pools Steve said their family would love it, especially their grandchildren.

However, Debbie wasn’t too sure about the property which was on the market for just over £70,500.

She revealed she wasn’t impressed by the style of the interior, saying: “It’s not very modern, but it’s tasteful.”

Jasmine went on to show the couple five other properties; the one close to their favourite pub only had one bedroom.

The second was another one-bedroom apartment priced at just over £62,500.

While looking around, Debbie observed: “The colour scheme and everything is nice and modern. Really happy with this one.”

After property two seemed to be ticking the right boxes, Jasmine took the pair to look at a bungalow.

The one-bedroom property featured a balcony and a view of the communal pool.

“This is the sort of space I was thinking of,” Debbie admitted and Steve agreed: “This to me feels more like a home.”

However, the property was on market for over £80,000 which was higher than the couple’s budget.

Number four came in at a very respectable £60,500 for a first-floor apartment with one-bedroom and a communal pool.

However, Jasmine was astounded when the couple revealed they weren't keen.

After Jasmine asked what they thought of it, Steve replied: "I wasn’t feeling it."

The gobsmacked host replied: "But this one, I mean, it solves the problems you’ve had with the two that you love. The bungalow was too expensive possibly. This is cheaper.

“And the one with the spiral staircase the outside space was a bit small for you wasn’t it, Debbie? This is bigger."

Steve confessed: "I just wasn’t getting that come and buy me feel."

Debbie added: "Sorry!"

Jasmine replied: "I’m a little disappointed because I thought this might be a sort of happy medium for you, but at the same time, it has got to be right for the two of you."

Property number five was priced at £72,000 and had two double bedrooms, two communal pools and a sea front view from its terrace.

The couple told Jasmine they would need some more time to decide.
